Volcanoes!

Date: 9th Feb 2018 @ 2:14pm

This half-term we have spent the majority of our time learning all about our Active Planet and the natural disasters that affect us. We learnt about volcanoes and therefore decided to make our own! We used newspaper, masking tape, a piece of cardboard, a waterbottle then modrock to create the model. After that, we painted them to look like real volcanoes. We watched Jackson Pollock do his splatter painting techniques to learn how to make the lava coming out our volcanoes look more real! It was so cool! Once they were all dry, we got to create a chemical reaction using baking soda and vinegar to make them erupt. We LOVED this topic and can't wait for our next one!
